Strengthening Early Childhood Health, Housing, Education, and Economic Well-Being Through Holistic Public Policy

Today, the Center for American Progress’ Early Childhood Policy Team released the third report in its series on the social determinants of health: “Strengthening Early Childhood Health, Housing, Education, and Economic Well-Being Through Holistic Public Policy.” The report examines how early childhood health, development, and well-being are affected by social and contextual factors and how holistic interventions during this period are effective at improving long-term health, economic, and educational outcomes.

Alongside the report, the Early Childhood Policy Team has published a roadmap summarizing the social determinants series. The three-part series aims to contribute to a strong foundation of research surrounding the social determinants of health during the earliest years of life – explore the whole series here

To complement the series, CAP will be hosting a virtual event at 1:00pm ET on July 19th to explore the series, contextualize the social determinants of health in the early childhood years, and discuss the importance of considering these factors in policymaking. Stay tuned for additional information!
