Opportunities for Reflective Practice in Early Childhood Apprenticeships

Designed for apprenticeship program leaders and system administrators, this piece explores how job-embedded learning opportunities delivered through residency or apprenticeship programs have the power to transform educator practice. To realize these gains, educators need opportunities for robust reflective practice that intentionally connects coursework and context. With a focus on describing the key components, purpose, costs, and considerations needed to design job-embedded supports, our goal is to support the growth of programs that provide the early childhood workforce with quality opportunities for professional learning.
